The result: the first recording of 59 out of the 60 Raags of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, performed on original string instruments, faithful to their prescribed source—eight CDs and a 200-page companion book. Mere Mun made the wisdom of Sabd Guru accessible to the world.
With the release of a Sabd in the one missing Raag, Raag Aasaa Aasaavaree, as part of the Anhad album, the collection of all 60 Raag was completed. Raag Aasaa Aasaavaree was omitted in Mere Mun out of an unwavering commitment to the Raag’s authentic expression. Rather than including a compromised version in Mere Mun merely for the sake of completeness, this composition awaited its own moment to shine in its true color.
